I’ve been busy doing not much at all.

Last week, Frankie and I watched One Day, under the impression that we were in for a feel-good - wrong. As lovely as it looked and as enchantingly told as it was, sadness lingered more than anything once it had finished. And to be honest, it was an unfair type of sadness that we both could have done without.

That said, I loved the way the story was created on screen and the two leads, Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess.

I got over it finally and last night I sat down with 50/50, though this time I knew what I was getting myself into. My predictions (and what I’d heard about it) turned out to be spot-on and I’d made my way through a fair share of tissues by the time the film had finished. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was, unsurprisingly, fucking phenomenal. I don’t think he’ll ever disappoint me - as an actor or as a person. His performance as Adam had me laughing, cringing, crying and left me full of hope. What a wonderful job!

I’d like to also add something that I never thought I’d say: Seth Rogen reduced me to tears. Granted, it was a very emotional scene, but his facial expression in that moment when Adam was getting out of the car to go to surgery was just perfect.

Make sure you see 50/50! Definitely do it.

Okay, that’s pretty much all I have to say.
