i'm back! i'm also exhausted.
camp felt like a stressful production this year, probably because we were without our main child-wrangler, haha.

A letter from Japan.
As many of you know, I was ridiculously concerned about my friends and ‘family’ in Japan after all that’s been happening over there. Wanting to combat this, I rounded up a couple of email addresses and sent off a letter expressing my (and some friends’) apologies and best wishes, and also asking for any news of Ichinomiya, where they live.

Oh, God. I’m in tears. The people of Northern Japan took the brunt of the blow, but that’s still not too far from Ichinomiya where I have friends and some people I consider to be family.
I hope they’re safe but there’s no way for me to find out. I’m tuned into the news, hoping for any mention of safe cities.

a couple of weeks ago, my aunt said she saw a mouse in our kitchen cupboard (the one under the sink where the bin lives). we laid a trap, the cheese and peanut butter went MIA, but the mouse remained out of our reach.
fast-forward to a few nights ago, and my parents hear the little bugger in their room at night; he’s supposedly popping in and out through the skirting boards. just great....
